Hey all, welcome to my page, known from here on out as Gregsville. Not too far from Dogsville. I started playing music when I was very young, in school. For some reason I had a facination for music. I got into it as soon as I could, starting on violin in 1st Grade & moving to horns, then guitar & bass. TV was young when I was, I was younger but I was barely old enough to watch it when I saw the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show & that probably is what sealed my fate. I was hooked. I kept up my music in school & also joined a Drum & Bugle Corps when I was a teenager which had a tremendous effect on my life & music. I spent my Summers traveling & playing shows in big Stadiums. In 1970 I was lucky enough to play the halftime show for the 1st Monday Night Football Game. With the help of Uncle Sam, I ended up in New Mexico in the 70's & played all around Texas, NM, & Colorado & eventually Las Vegas, then Nashville, back to NM then Florida. Whew! In my career I've had the opportunity to play with many fine players & quite a few stars such Johnny Winter, The Coasters, Ray Price, Gene Watson, Buddy Emmons & The Super Picker Band, Johnny Gimble & Murrell Counts & local bands The Terry Brown Band, Gator Tail, Neon Moon, Not Guilty,Colt 45, Out of Control, The Marshall Country Band & Fatt Chance, all from the Tampa Bay Area, where I live & where I've joined up with this pack of Dogs, The Dogs Playing Poker, to make it sound as good as we can. Come back & visit my page from time to time as I will be adding things to it all the time & trying to keep everybody posted on what's going on. It's a dog's life so live it up....
Hey Now, like my 'ol buddy, Curtis Jones used to say. Whisky... all you can drink. Sad but true. Whisky for me & fresh horses for my men..... and bring me a banana for my monkey. Ted's dead, that's what I said.
Love 'dem mouses, Mouses what I love to eat. I bite their little heads off & nibble on their tiny little feet...
How many times have you said that? Oh, maybe not.

            Not Mine
My main rig is a Galien-Krueger 800RB stereo bass amp with a Peavey 1810 Bass cabinet. It has an 18" Black Widow Speaker & 2 10's. When it's possible, I like to use 2 of those cabinets, since I have 3 of them. Giant tone & presence.
I also have an old SVT 200T as a back up & a Hartke kickback 15 for practice.
Normally I play a 1965 Precision Bass, highly modified by myself but sometimes I pull out my fretless Music Man Stingray but, inevitably, after a month or 2 I get "Fender Anxiety" & go back to ol' Dolly.
By the way, if anybody happens to see Benny Rogers, tell him to quit trying to use my fretless bass to play "Disco" music, if you can call it that. Also, no banjos, please.
I also have a Carvin, which I built from a kit. Originally I had planned on playing it while I refinished my Fender but I like the sound the Fender makes so much that I'll have to come up with Plan "B" but until then I've put heavier strings(.055-.115) & tune it down a whole step for when I want that big low ball sound. It also has a Hipshot Drop "D" tuner so I can go all the way down to "C" if I want.

 Well, ya gotta do something....

Notice: No Squirrels were injured during the making of this video. Their nuts just got thrown across the yard.
